This ongoing effort, to maintain the historic battlefield, involves clearing debris and trash from the site where the Battle of Shepherdstown occurred. Volunteers, including members from the American Battlefield Trust, emphasized the importance of preserving history and the environment. After the cleanup, participants were treated to a guided tour followed by an insightful lecture by author Tom McGrath, further enriching the day’s connection to local heritage.
