Shepherdstown Hosts Bird-Friendly Cities Presentation
On May 15, the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown will host a free presentation by author Tim Beatley on creating bird-friendly cities, highlighting the dangers urban environments pose to bird species such as warblers and sparrows. The event, part of the celebration for World Migratory Bird Day, will explore innovative solutions for making urban areas safer for wildlife, benefiting local biodiversity and community happiness. Following this, the Martinsburg Heritage Festival will feature Founder’s Day events from May 16-18, celebrating local history and community engagement.
