The Spirit of Jefferson highlights a variety of community events taking place in Shepherdstown, including the annual book sale at the War Memorial Building until October 20, where books will be available at varying prices. A meeting for the Jefferson County Democratic Association is scheduled for October 10 to discuss election plans, and the historical drama 'The Rivalry,' centered on the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debate, will be performed at the Historic Chapel from October 11 to 20. Tickets for the play are priced at $15, and reservations can be made online or by phone.
