The Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF) in Shepherdstown has kicked off its 35th season with a remarkable 32% increase in ticket sales compared to the previous year, signaling a return to pre-pandemic engagement. Amy Wratchford, the Interim Managing Director, attributes this surge to the public's eagerness to resume cultural activities and the appeal of familiar playwrights, alongside a standout new work focusing on the Vietnam War that sold out instantly. Although sales are improving, they have not yet matched the record levels of 2018 and 2019. CATF continues to offer engaging productions, and local audiences are encouraged to participate in this vibrant theater scene. Published by The Journal.
