At the 2025 West Virginia Press Association convention in Charleston, The Journal and the Shepherdstown Chronicle achieved notable recognition for their excellence, with The Journal earning 26 individual awards and a first-place accolade in Division II, while the Chronicle took home 15 awards in Division IV. Managing Editor Toni Milbourne highlighted the commitment and hard work of the staff, while local journalists celebrated the dedication to quality reporting in towns such as Shepherdstown and Ranson.
