Constitution Day celebrants to see additions to annual Shepherdstown event

The Shepherdstown Chronicle reports on the upcoming 20th anniversary of Constitution Day in Shepherdstown. This year, the event will feature the Tom E. Moses Memorial Lecture by former U.S. Senator Carte Goodwin, honoring the civil libertarian legacy of Moses. The lecture will be held at the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History & Education on September 17 at 7 p.m., followed by the inaugural We, the People Parade on September 20. Community members are encouraged to participate in the parade, which will celebrate democracy, and a reading of the Constitution will follow. Local residents emphasize the importance of commemorating the Constitution amidst recent political discussions.
