Shepherdstown Council Addresses New Penalties and Community Concerns

During the recent Town Council meeting in Shepherdstown, President Christine Wimer of the Jefferson County Foundation urged the council to petition the Planning Commission regarding proposed groundwater extraction for a bottling plant. Additionally, Councilman Marty Amerikaner raised concerns over a new disorderly conduct ordinance that may impose financial penalties while potentially compromising the legal rights of poorer residents.
