West Virginia bald eagles lay season's first egg on live Eaglecam

The first bald eagle egg of the season was laid at the National Conservation Training Center in Shepherdstown on Monday, according to WBOY 12 News. This live Eaglecam provides a unique opportunity for residents, especially those in nearby towns like Ranson and Harpers Ferry, to observe the nesting process and eventual hatching of the chicks, anticipated in mid-March. The training center features both an upper 22-year-old nest and a new lower nest that has also seen activity. Unfortunately, the two chicks from last year did not survive, but the current egg offers hope for successful hatching this season.
