The new Shepherdstown Elementary School welcomed the community for an open house before students start classes on January 6. The facility, located off Flowing Springs Road, replaces the previous school built in 1957 and features modern amenities, including classrooms with 'bear dens,' outdoor areas, and a STEAM lab. Excited visitors explored the new building during the event, which included a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials, including the Jefferson County Schools' Deputy Superintendent Joyce White. This facility aims to enhance students' educational experience by incorporating outdoor learning and collaborative spaces.
