Shepherdstown’s Company 3 honors their own at annual banquet

At the annual banquet held on the Shepherd University campus, the Shepherdstown Fire Department recognized its top responders and outstanding members from the past year. President Craig Simpson highlighted achievements and presented awards, including recognition for high call volumes, with Johnathan Sines leading with 486 calls. Community support played a key role, contributing to $255,000 raised through various events. Notable award recipients included Leslie Simpson for fundraising, Steve Matson for the Fire Chief’s Award, and several members honored for their years of service. The event concluded with Sheriff Tom Hansen swearing in new officers for 2024.
