Shepherdstown Group Enriches Library with Philip Roth Collection
Group donates entire collection of Philip Roth books to Shepherdstown Public Library

The Shepherdstown Chronicle reports on the donation of an entire collection of Philip Roth's books to the Shepherdstown Public Library by the Legendary Shepherdstown Philip Roth Reading Group. Spurred by the pandemic, the group formed to explore Roth's works via Zoom, culminating in the reading of all 31 of his novels by December 2024. After completing their goal, the group sought to enrich the library's offerings, which previously had only one of Roth’s books. This initiative not only celebrates Roth’s literary contributions but also strengthens community bonds among locals who cherish literary discussion and friendship.
