The Shepherdstown Tour of Historic Churches made its return on December 26, after a year hiatus, attracting a sizable crowd eager to explore the town’s rich architectural heritage. Featuring ten historic sites, including the Historic Shepherdstown Museum and the War Memorial Building, attendees enjoyed insights from local historians and volunteers like Vicki Smith and Stephanie Unger. Significant changes included the absence of the Shepherdstown Opera House and the introduction of the former Christ Reformed United Church, now owned by the Contemporary American Theater Festival, allowing for continued appreciation of local history and architecture within the vibrant community of Shepherdstown.
