The Garden Stewards, in collaboration with Shepherdstown Public Library, are enhancing bird conservation efforts by installing bird-safe glass retrofits on library windows to prevent bird collisions, a major cause of bird fatalities. This initiative will be showcased at a special presentation led by US Fish & Wildlife Service biologist Richard Novak on April 25 at the library. The event aims to educate the community about the importance of reducing bird strikes and provide practical solutions for locals, making it a significant step towards protecting avian populations around Shepherdstown.
