The Shepherdstown Public Library is hosting a Halloween Costume Swap Stop throughout October, organized by Adult Services Librarian Addison Reese. Inspired by her own experiences finding affordable costumes for her children, this initiative allows community members to donate or pick up costumes for free. The library aims to promote resource-sharing and sustainability, providing a venue where parents can exchange outgrown costumes in good condition, ensuring these items are reused rather than discarded. As noted by Library Director Christy Hagerty, this initiative strengthens community bonds and encourages sharing within the local area.
