In partnership with the Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department, the Shepherdstown Public Library hosted a fire safety workshop on October 13, aimed at educating local families, particularly homeschoolers, about emergency preparedness during National Fire Prevention Month. Youth Services Librarian Jessie Ward emphasized the importance of teaching children fire safety, while Lt. John Sines and other firefighters demonstrated essential safety techniques, such as the stop, drop, and roll method, making the event engaging and informative for the 150 attendees, including young children from nearby towns like Charles Town.
