The Friends of the Shepherdstown Library held a well-attended Winter Weekend Book Sale at the local library, showcasing hundreds of gently used books across various genres. Residents from Shepherdstown, Charles Town, and Martinsburg flocked to the event, appreciating the extensive selection, particularly in local history. Participants like Janet Stokes and Tania Kirkman expressed excitement over their unique finds, while FOSL members noted the success of diverse book genres. The organization has shifted to hosting smaller, more frequent sales to enhance community engagement and ensure high-quality donations, a strategy that has been well-received over the past 30 years, as claimed by board member Kathy Loftin.
