The Shepherdstown Opera House has joined the West Virginia Historic Theatre Trail, a project created to preserve local arts and culture. Opened in 1910, the opera house has seen a resurgence in community engagement following recent restoration efforts led by Harriet and Steve Pearson. Their dedication follows a severe flood in 2018 and aims to expand access to the arts. The addition of the Shepherdstown venue alongside others like the Granada Theater in Bluefield highlights the importance of historic theaters in enriching local communities.
