On New Year’s Eve, community members from Shepherdstown and surrounding areas came together at the War Memorial Building for the second annual People’s Ball. Organized by local resident John Meeker, the free celebration featured hors d’oeuvres, beverages, and music by DJ Rachael Meads, enabling families and visitors—including newcomers Karen and Erin Armington from New Jersey—to enjoy a comfortable and inclusive event. With the aim of keeping the celebration affordable amidst rising costs, the event also highlighted the collaborative efforts of local organizations like Shepherdstown Shares, enhancing community spirit in the region as they welcomed 2025 together.
