On November 9, members and friends of the Shepherdstown Rotary Club participated in the 37th annual fall highway cleanup along Route 230. This long-standing tradition began in 1985, initiated by Conrad and Mary Ann Hammann, and has been a key community project since the club's founding in 1987. This two-mile section of Route 230 has been cleaned by the club twice a year, with recent events coordinated by Rick Caruso following Hammann's passing in 2015. The Shepherdstown Rotary Club's efforts are recognized as part of West Virginia's Adopt-a-Highway program.
