Shepherdstown Rotary Boosts Local Literacy with Grants
The Shepherdstown Rotary Club, a community organization dedicated to promoting literacy, has awarded a total of $1,135 through its 'Rotary Reads' grant program to enhance reading initiatives in local institutions. Notable recipients include the Shepherdstown Day Care Center, which received funding for Dr. Seuss books for children, the Shepherdstown Public Library, which will enhance its children's section, and Shepherdstown Elementary School, which will use the grants for transportation to the library and to purchase instructional materials. These efforts were recognized during a breakfast meeting at the Bavarian Inn on April 1, emphasizing the Club's long-standing commitment to literacy in the area.
