Shepherdstown Rotary Club Cleans Up Route 230 for 38th Year

Shepherdstown Rotary continues highway cleanup tradition

On March 15, members of the Shepherdstown Rotary Club participated in their 38th annual highway cleanup along Route 230, where they collected 21 bags of trash, primarily construction debris from the new Shepherdstown Elementary School site. This ongoing community effort originated in 1985, initiated by local residents, and has been recognized as one of the state's oldest Adopt-a-Highway programs. Traffic control was provided by Jefferson County Sheriff Reserve officers, enhancing safety during this collaborative endeavor to maintain the beauty of the region's roadways.
