The Rotary Club of Shepherdstown recently held its 2025 Four-Way Speech Contest at the Bavarian Inn, with senior Luke Viands from Jefferson High School taking first place. Of the 11 participants, Ronan Bartosevich and Miranda Hall claimed second and third, respectively. Viands wins a $100 prize and the opportunity for a regional competition leading to a $2,000 scholarship, all aimed at fostering high ethical standards through original speeches based on Rotary's core principles. The event reflects local educational engagement, with thanks extended to English teacher Jennifer Glymph for her support.
