Shepherdstown mayor talks growth of town and gown relationship with Shepherd University

In an effort to strengthen the relationship between Shepherd University and Shepherdstown, Mayor James Gatz announced collaborative initiatives intended to benefit both the town and the university. Discussions with university president Mary Hendrix led to plans for improvements such as enhancing local businesses through the university's business school and increasing community access to university facilities, including a large former dining hall ideal for public use. This partnership aims to foster mutual support and growth within the local community, specifically benefiting organizations and businesses in the area.
