The Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF) in Shepherdstown has experienced a remarkable 32% increase in sales at the start of its 35th season compared to last year, marking the best ticket sales since before the pandemic. Interim Managing Director Amy Wratchford highlighted that the success is due to audiences' eagerness to return to live theater and a compelling lineup of plays, including a sold-out performance of 'Did My Grandfather Kill My Grandfather?' by an emerging playwright from West Virginia University. While the festival is thriving, Wratchford noted they still aim to reach the pre-pandemic sales heights of 2018 and 2019 as the community engages with this local cultural landmark.
