Shepherdstown Residents Urged to Protect Town Run's Water Quality
Town Run Watershed leaders raise concerns over water source contamination

In a recent article from The Shepherdstown Chronicle, concerns have arisen in Shepherdstown regarding contamination risks to Town Run, a local stream that is integral to the community's drinking water supply. After the removal of a pet waste station, members of the Town Run Watershed nonprofit observed increased pet waste left uncollected along the stream, which could jeopardize the water quality for future use. Local steering member Kay Schultz emphasized the importance of preventing contamination from both pet waste and neglected septic systems, urging residents to maintain their systems and assist in keeping the stream clean for the shared benefit of the community.
