Shepherdstown's Kathy Sholl co-presented a fascinating talk on coverlet weaving at the Rocktown History Museum, alongside Gary Smucker. This event highlighted the Tusing Sisters, who were renowned weavers in the Shenandoah Valley, and celebrated their independent lifestyle on a Hardy County farm. The presentation drew nearly fifty attendees eager to learn about the sisters' weaving legacy, which has been recognized by prominent publications like Smithsonian Magazine. Sholl, a member of the DAR, shared her personal connection with the sisters and her award-winning short story that led to a documentary film about them. The museum, located just outside Harrisonburg, offers insight into local history and continues to inspire interest in the Tusing family's craft.
