The Student Leadership Conference 2025, held at Shepherd University’s Storer Ballroom, continued its 40-year tradition of fostering student development in leadership within the local community. Rachael Meads, assistant director of student engagement, emphasized the importance of compassion and personal growth during the event, attended by 102 students. The conference featured keynote speeches and breakout sessions, including topics like suicide prevention and effective teamwork, aligning with the university's mission to empower students as leaders both on campus and beyond. This initiative plays a crucial role in cultivating a sense of leadership among young individuals from towns like Charles Town and Harpers Ferry.
