In a tragic domestic violence incident in Summit Point, a 50-year-old woman named Tanya Lyons was killed by her 71-year-old husband, John Lyons, during a 911 call reporting a verbal disturbance at their residence on Keith Drive. While Tanya was on the line with the dispatcher, she screamed, and shortly after, John informed authorities that he had shot her. Responding deputies arrested him, and Tanya was found deceased. John is now charged with First Degree Murder and is being held without bail. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office urges local residents facing domestic violence to seek available resources, underscoring the need for community awareness and support.
