In response to the pressing demand for emergency 911 dispatchers, Ian Hillman, director of responsive education in the local school system, partnered with the Jefferson County Development Authority to launch a new training initiative. The Public Safety Emergency Communications Training Program (EmComm) aims to equip students from schools like Jefferson High and Washington High with essential skills for potential careers in emergency dispatching, enhancing public safety efforts throughout the region.
