FirstEnergy is hosting an open house tonight at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley from 6 to 8 p.m. to discuss a proposed 500-kilovolt transmission line that will improve electricity infrastructure in the region, including upgrades through areas like Clear Brook and connections into West Virginia. The Gore-Doubs-Goose Creek Improvement Project aims to enhance reliability and accommodate growing energy demands, with plans to start construction in 2027. Residents are encouraged to attend the open house for more information, as this development ties directly into the electricity needs affecting local communities such as Charles Town and Ranson.
