Following the closure of the Urban Mission shelter in Steubenville on October 31, approximately 200 individuals are now facing the perilous conditions of sleeping outdoors, in vehicles, and in vacant structures in Steubenville and nearby areas. During a recent meeting of the Homeless Coalition, local leaders voiced urgent concerns about the escalating crisis, emphasizing the need for immediate action as winter approaches, highlighting the severe risks to the homeless population in the region, including those in neighboring communities.
