West Virginia Business Growth: Top Counties for New Business Registrations in 2024

In October 2024, WV News reported a significant increase in business registrations in West Virginia, with 1,100 new businesses registered statewide. Calhoun County topped the list with a 2.70% growth rate, adding seven new businesses. Other counties that showed impressive growth included Wayne (1.90%), Pocahontas (1.87%), Clay (1.82%), and Jackson (1.80%). Kanawha County led in total new registrations with 129 new businesses, followed by Berkeley (93), Monongalia (87), Raleigh (73), and Jefferson County (72).
