The West Virginia First Foundation (WVFF) has allocated $17 million in grants to support 94 projects aimed at combating substance abuse across the state. Among the initiatives, projects in towns like Charles Town and Ranson received significant funding, such as $625,644.46 for the Berkeley County Diversion and Interdiction Project and $400,000 for Semper Liberi's Mountaineer Recovery Village. The funding focuses on critical areas including diversion programs and youth prevention efforts, demonstrating a commitment to recovery and community support in the region. The Journal highlights these efforts and shares that applications for additional funding, the Momentum Initiative Grant, are open until September 22.
