On October 11th, 40 high schools in West Virginia were honored for their significant contributions to student college readiness at an awards ceremony hosted by the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and the Council for Community and Technical Education, according to WV.gov News. These schools achieved the 'Champion of College Access and Success' recognition for meeting specific criteria related to key college-planning initiatives, fostering a supportive environment for students navigating postsecondary education. Dr. Sarah Armstrong Tucker emphasized the vital role these institutions play in facilitating student success, despite challenges such as changes to FAFSA.
