The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center and three additional historic venues—the Shepherdstown Opera House, Granada Theater, and Elk Theater—have been added to the West Virginia Historic Theatre Trail, as announced by the West Virginia Preservation Alliance. This trail, aimed at enhancing cultural tourism and showcasing the state's theatrical heritage, supports local economies by boosting tourism-related businesses. With the historical significance of these venues dating back decades, including the Shepherdstown Opera House's origins as a Vaudeville center in 1910, these sites are vital in preserving the rich cultural fabric of towns like Shepherdstown and Clarksburg. The initiative is expected to foster collaboration among theaters and promote arts accessibility in the region.
