A new Senate bill proposes that teacher pay raises in West Virginia would be tied to median home prices within counties. As reported by Wayne County News, educators in affluent areas like Charles Town could see salaries increase significantly, potentially surpassing $101,000. However, only 25 counties, notably wealthier ones, would be eligible for these enhanced salaries, leaving teachers in less prosperous regions at a disadvantage.
