West Virginia University President Michael T. Benson recently visited the Eastern Panhandle, including significant stops in Martinsburg and Jefferson County. During his tour, he expressed enthusiasm for local landmarks, including the site of abolitionist John Brown's hanging, while emphasizing the importance of manufacturing and higher education in the area. His visits included Proctor and Gamble and WVU Medicine Berkeley, and he aims to engage local high school students in considering WVU campuses for their education.
