WVU Medicine Jefferson Medical Center celebrated a significant achievement on December 16, completing over 100 robotic-assisted surgeries with the da Vinci® Xi™ Surgical System in just months after its April introduction. This technological advancement, spearheaded by Dr. Jan Kletter who performed the first surgery, underscores the medical center's commitment to offering state-of-the-art healthcare to residents of neighboring areas, including Charles Town and Harpers Ferry. The da Vinci system enhances surgical precision, allowing for smaller incisions and quicker recovery, thereby improving patient outcomes and reinforcing the center's leadership in advanced surgical care options.
